Today saw the yard continue its excellent run of form with wins from Malpas Missile and Bassett Road. Following Bassett Road’s victory, the yard had recorded 6 wins from the last 7 runners.
The Racing Post analysis commented;
“MALPAS MISSILE returned from a 106-day absence to take this in facile fashion. Pushed up to lead after a furlong, she kicked clear rounding the home bend and ran right away from some very modest rivals. She didn´t need to run up to her official rating to win this, but had been competitive off marks in the 70s when last seen in nursery company. She is likely to be put away now.”
“BASSETT ROAD, a half-brother to smart 6f performer Gramercy, had shown early pace before weakeninglate on when well beaten over the extended 1m here on his racecourse debut last month. Suited by the drop back to 7f, he made his challenge with 2f to run and kept on gamely to the line, despite hanging right in the last 100 yards. He is quite a scopey sort and has the makings of a decent 3-y-o handicapper, with a step back up in trip likely to suit as he matures.”
