Off to Dubai!

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

Rhythm Of Light, Kenny Powers and their lads are preparing for a trip to Dubai in the New Year, having been invited to attend by the Dubai Racing Club.

Both will take in a race or two in January and the hope is that one of both of them will progress sufficiently to end up at the Carnival!

Colin, Daz, and both horses fly out to Dubai in early January to break new ground for Manor House Stables. Tom has had lots of experience in Dubai himself, in his early days working for Mike De Kock, but these will represent his and Manor House Stables’ first runners there.

MUTV & Rooney visit MHS

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

Yesterday we had a visit from Manchester United TV who were filming some footage of magician Dynamo performing at Manor House Stables with guests Wayne Rooney, Tom Cleverley and Michael Owen.

Derek Thompson was also on site to host the show on MUTV and we think was the first to reveal that Wayne Rooney has bought a yearling with us via an update on Twitter!

The news quickly spread across Twitter and the Racing Post ran the main story on their website last night, followed by many other stories hitting the papers this morning.

We are obviously delighted to formally announce that Wayne and Coleen Rooney will have two horses in training with us next season. We hope that Wayne’s involvement will bring the sport some publicity outside of the normal racing media and hopefully attract some new fans and followers!

Wayne and Coleen’s two horses are a two-year-old colt called Tomway and a yearling colt by Bahamian Bounty out of Amazon Beauty, yet to be named. Wayne colours are pink and white and the full profile of the yearling can be viewed by clicking here.

We wish Wayne and Coleen all the best with both horses and hope to see them both out early next season.

Christmas Party photos

Friday, December 16th, 2011

We had our Christmas Party last Thursday which was a fantastic evening.

Thank you to everyone who voted for the MHS Awards, which helped decide the winners of prizes at the Christmas Party.

Thank you also to those owners that contributed to the Staff Christmas Fund. Each member of staff was given their share on the night which they either gambled away on the race night, or had a good few drinks, in some cases both!

There are a few photos of the night on our Facebook page, to view these click here.

Merry Christmas!
