Rowan Spirit runs tomorrow for Deva Racing Club

Deva Racing Club owned Rowan Spirit makes his racecourse debut tomorrow on the All Weather at Southwell in a maiden at 2.30pm. Being by Captain Rio, whose offspring have a great track record on the sand we have our fingers crossed that all goes well and Rowan Spirit will run a good race for his owners.

Tonight we have a runner at Wolverhampton. Noverre To Go runs in the 6.10, the Betfair All Weather Forum Competition Handicap run over 5 furlongs.

Tomorrow sees the start of the official Flat season at Doncaster. We have a couple of runners in Mirror Lad in the williamhill.com – Play Poker Brocklesby Conditions Stakes. Today the Daily Mirror launched its Punters Club which boasts Mirror Lad as the first horse in the club. We have been told that shares in the horse are selling very fast. The Brocklesby is the first race for 2 year olds and run over 5 furlongs.

Our other runner on the opening card is Thingathong in the Bob Beevers Memorial Maiden Stakes. She is an unraced three year old and the race is over 1 mile 2 furlongs and owned by Bert Black.

Manor House Stables & Coutts Hold a Charity Auction For Sport Relief

On Saturday 20 March, Manor House Stables and Coutts Bank held a joint Open Day. As well as viewing the horses in their stables and on the new Stobart Straight gallop we held a charity auction in aid of Sport Relief. With lots offered from Coutts, the Helicentre Liverpool and a special lot from MHS of a two year colt by Indesatchel ex Beauty on lease for the season, we raised an impressive £8,250 for the charity.

Classic Colori wins listed race at Lingfield

Classic Colori today won the ‘Sportingbet Supports Heros Spring Cup’ over 7 furlongs under a well judged ride from Richard Kingscote. Prominent throughout, the Windsor maiden winner responded well to pressure and showed a most game attitude to prevail in a three-way photo. Classic Colori holds an entry for the French 2000 Guineas.
