Trainer Tom Dascombe's statistics

This page provides a statistical analysis of our performance and enables its readers to follow our progress through the season and against the targets set for the year. Our statistics and targets follow a calendar year and the page will be updated on a monthly basis.

2013 targets

Our prize money target for 2012 was £650,000 and our winners target was 60. We achieved both of these by the end of September and finished the season with prize money of £867,832 and 81 winners. Our long term ambition is to record 100 winners and £1,000,000 in prize money in 2014, so our 2013 targets will represent a half-way stepping stone to this, with a prize money target of £825,000 and 80 winners. We also want to improve again on our finishing position in the table of UK prize money, where we finished 24th last year. 2012 was a another fantastic season for many reasons and we hope to go onto bigger and better things in 2013. 2012 commentary

In 2012 we set ambitious targets of 60 winners and £650,000 in prize money, both of which we surpassed as early as September, in what was a fantastic season. The season in general exceeded all our expectations with another brilliant winner at Royal Ascot with Ceiling Kitty taking the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes, and a further two Group 2 victories for Rhythm Of Light, in Turkey and America. By the end of the season we had racked up 81 winners and amassed £868,000 in UK and overseas prize money. In the UK prize money table for 2012 Tom finished 24th, a place higher than his target of 25th. In the winners table for 2012 Tom finished 12th, with 79 winners in the UK.

In Tom's seven full seasons as a trainer he has increased his prize money haul each and every year (see below), but none more so than this year, going from £585k in 2011 to £868k in 2012. In turn, we also increased our strike rate from 11.2% in 2011 to 17.0% in 2012.
